Each MPR Jewelry by Meghan Patrice Riley piece is fabricated by hand in the MPR Atelier in Brooklyn, New York by trained artists and metalsmiths. Mixing metals with textile techniques, Riley and her team experiment with classic, elementary materials—such as their signature nylon-coated stainless steel cable wire—combined with fine metals and semi-precious stones to reinterpret them into sculptural, contemporary jewelry that is feminine, luxurious, and alluring, while also engineered for wearability and durability.

MPR Jewelry works with nylon-coated stainless steel cable that is coated in fine metals like 24k yellow gold and sterling silver. Though it appears to be a simple wire, this cable is actually composed of 49 miniature wires woven together to create a monofilament-like stainless steel strand that is soft like a textile yet reinforced with a super-strong steel core. The fabrication process of the cable is similar to that used in suspension bridge construction—designed to move with the shifting plates of the earth rather than collapse, allowing it to flex and sway with motion.

Each piece is further adorned with small square connectors and findings made from 14k gold fill and sterling silver, accented with touches of semi-precious stones. This combination makes the jewelry both hypoallergenic and luxurious. Though the collections have an ultra-dainty, extremely lightweight appearance—especially ideal for earrings—they are also highly resilient, capable of being crushed and bouncing back into shape thanks to the cable’s unique properties.
